ByeTalk (“we”, “us”) is a business communication service. The ByeTalk mobile app is available only to people whose employer or organization (“your organization”) has a ByeTalk workspace. Your organization is the controller of the business data in its workspace; we process it on the organization’s behalf.
What the app collects
- Account information: your name, work email address, job title, and the phone number your organization assigns to you.
- Email: messages, attachments, drafts, and signatures in the mailboxes your organization connects to ByeTalk.
- Calls: call logs (numbers, times, durations), call recordings, transcripts and summaries of those recordings, voicemail messages, and a voicemail greeting you choose to record. Calls placed and received through ByeTalk are recorded and transcribed, and the recordings, transcripts and summaries are stored in your organization’s workspace, where your organization can review them. The app tells you this and asks for your agreement before you can place or receive your first call.
- Device information: a push notification token so we can alert you to new mail, missed calls, and voicemail. The app uses the microphone only during a call or while recording your greeting.
We do not collect your location, your personal contacts, health or financial information, or browsing history, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
How it is used
Solely to provide the service to you and your organization: delivering and sending mail, placing and receiving calls, recording and transcribing those calls, storing records of those communications in your organization’s workspace, and sending you notifications.
Who receives it
- Service providers that operate parts of ByeTalk under contract: Supabase (hosting and database), Telnyx (telephone network and call recording), SendGrid (email delivery), Apple (push notifications), and third-party transcription and AI services that process call recordings on our behalf. They process data only to provide those services.
- Your organization, which can access the mail, calls, recordings and transcripts in its workspace.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising.
Retention and deletion
Data is retained for as long as your organization keeps its ByeTalk workspace or as its administrators choose. Your organization’s administrator can deactivate your account and delete your data. To request deletion, contact your administrator or info@byetalk.com.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our hosting providers. Access is restricted to your organization and to personnel who need it to operate the service.
Children
ByeTalk is a workplace tool and is not directed to children under 13.
